How to Recover Deleted Contacts from iPhone

When I updated my iPhone 5c to the latest iOS system, all my contacts were removed from my phone. I haven’t synced my contacts yet. There are many important clients’ contacts that matter to me. What can I do to get my contacts back? I’m very appreciative of your help.

Tutorial 1: Recover Contacts from iPhone

Step 1. Connect your iPhone to PC and scan it

Connect your iPhone to the computer and launch iPhone Data Recovery. Once your iPhone was detected, the window will demonstrate as below. Click "Start Scan" to scan the files on your iPhone.

Note: It takes a while to scan your iPhone, please keep your iPhone always connected.

Step 2. Recover deleted iPhone contacts directly

When the scanning is over, all contents will be shown and listed in categories. Check "Contacts" and some other items you want to restore. Click "Recovery" to extract the data to your computer.

Tutorial 2: Extract iTunes Backup to Retrieve Deleted Contacts on iPhone

Step 1. Scan the backup files from your PC

Once you lost iPhone contacts or other data, don't connect or sync it with iTunes because iTunes will update or replace the file on your iPhone. Run iPhone Data Recovery and choose the column "Recover from iTunes Backup File". Choose the right backup file of your iPhone and click "Start Scan" to move on.

Step 2. Preview and recover iPhone contacts

After scanning, all files of the backup will show in the window. Check the item "Contacts" or some other data you want to recover. Click the "Recover" button to extract them to your PC.

Note: The contacts found of the scanning result contain existing ones and deleted ones. You can click the button "Only display the deleted items" to show only deleted items.

Tutorial 3: Recover Contacts from iCloud Backup Files

Step 1. Run iPhone Data Recovery and sign in your iCloud account

At the very beginning, run the program. Select the item "Recover from iCloud Backup File" and then sign in your iCloud account.

Step 2. Download and extract your iCloud backup

As you enter your iCloud account, your backup files will be shown automatically. Choose the file of your iPhone and then click "Download". The downloading time depends on the size of your backup file.

After the backup downloading, click the same button to extracting.

Step 3. Preview the data and restore iPhone from iCloud

All files of the backup will be listed in the window. Check "Contacts" item of "Message & Call log". As you can see, you can also recover something else such as messages, call log, voicemail, etc. Click "Recover" to transfer contacts to the computer.
