How to Delete Photos from iPhone

This article is intended to tell you ways to get rid of your pictures on iPhone permanently. But if you are just looking for a way to clean them up and there is still a chance that you want them back, here is what you are going to do: open the photos app > tap "Photos" on the bottom left > enter "Moments" > click "Select" on the top > Tap on "Select" next to a set of photos > press the "trash can". Later you can recover the iPhone photographs with some tool like iPhone Data Recovery. However, this is not enough when you are selling an iPhone. Anyone can retrieve the files easily with some applications as well as you. So, read the later part of this guide and follow the steps to delete photos from iPhone forever.

Note: Before we start, please do a backup file so that later you can restore the things needed.

Part One: Erase Both Deleted and Existing Pictures on iPhone

This mode protects your privacy by cleaning the personal information such as photos, messages and so forth.

Step 1. Launch iPhone Data Eraser

Run the program on your PC and then get the iPhone connected to it. If this is first connection, you will see this interface, which means you can now go to the handset and tap "Trust". After this the computer can get access to your data and phone settings.

Then, choose "Erase Private Data" on the left side.

Step 2. Scan for iPhone Files and Clean Them up

Click "Start Scan" in the middle so that iPhone Data Eraser can search the private files. The result can be seen like this.

Please be aware that the images in the home directory can be previewed while those under "Deleted Data" can not. Tick both of them and click "Erase Now". And when it is finished, press "Done".

Part Two: Wipe the Already-Deleted Photos on iPhone

Step 1. Clean up the Photographs

To do this, you need to go to the beginning of this article. Launch the Photos app and erase the files in batches. It is quite simple. Surely you will make it. Now, let’s proceed to the next step.

Step 2. Scan for Lost Images

Select "Erase Deleted Files" and tap "Start Scan". After a while, the result is shown. See the interface below? Tick "Photos" at the bottom. There are 122 of them. Under this mode, only names, dates can be seen. Press "Erase Now" and wait for some time.

The process bar shows where we are at. Do not pull the USB cord out, or your phone might get damaged. Also, the button "Done" needs to be clicked at the end.

Part Three: Delete All iPhone Data Including Photos

Step 1. Enter "delete" to Erase iPhone

You should choose the last mode, "Erase All Data". "Medium Security Level" is recommended because it is enough for most users and does not cost so much time. Also, you can click the word "Medium" and three options are listed for your choice-High Level, Medium Level and Low Level. After you tick one of them, press "OK". Then the interface will turn into this one. Key in the word "delete" and click "Erase Now".

Step 2. Wait for the Erasure to End

First, the program will clear all the contents including pictures, settings, private data, and so on. It should not be long before your iPhone restarts automatically.

Then, traces on the free space are to be total cleared. To guarantee that the files can not be restored, the whole iDevice will be run through. So, it cost more time than the first two modes. When you see "Storage Almost Full" on the phone screen, tap "Done" to continue. Still, at the end you will have to click "Done" on the computer.

Note: You can only erase the cache of the movie and music apps with a free trial version.
