How to Delete iPhone Data without Restore

Why do we need to write over the data so that they won’t be recovered? If you are giving away or selling your iPhone 5s/5c/5/4s, you will definitely delete the data on it. But, imagine this, your phone may be used by some scoundrels, and there stands a chance that he might know how to recover deleted files. Then, your contacts and everything will be taken advantage of. The way I am introducing here is to permanently delete iPhone data with the help of iPhone Data Eraser. It is a tool which writes random contents over your personal info, such as contacts, media and message, nearly anything that you can think of. Besides, the steps are extremely simple.

Tutorial 1: Permanently Delete iPhone 5 Private Data

Note: Deleted Data, Safari Cache, Safari History, Safari Cookies ,Keyboard Cache, Messages, Messages Attachments, Call History and Notes, Photos are all deletable. Only these personal files will be cleaned up.

Step 1. Connect iPhone to the Computer

Install iPhone Data Eraser first and open it. Connect through a USB cord and the software will automatically start to detect iDevice. Remember to click "Trust" on the screen of you iPhone.

Step 2. Select the mode "Erase Private Data"

In the middle of the interface, you will see the button "Start Scan". Click it and wait until the end of the analysis. When it is finished, the items are to be listed for you to choose. Tick the one that is to be gone forever.

Note: The data can all be previewed when you highlight one of them.

Step 3. Erase the iPhone

Tap "Erase Now" on the lower right corner. Then the window will show you this process bar. This should cost you more than 20 minutes. When it is ended, press "Done".

The already-deleted contents are still be in the iDevice. To guarantee that they can not be retrieved, you can use this mode.

Step 1. Choose the mode to Get Rid of iDevice Files

Plug iPhone into the PC first. Select "Erase Deleted Files". Then, press "Start Scan" to proceed to the next step.

Tutorial 3: Write Over All Data on iPhone 5

You should be careful when using this mode, because the whole phone will be erased, unlike the first two cases, and there is no coming back.

Step 1. Run iPhone Data Eraser

Click to open the software and then connect iPhone to PC. When the phone is detected, choose "Erase All Data" and you will come to the second step.
